They have made comments several times about how "I'm sure you're already familiar with this..", which I respond back, "As a general rule, Dell doesn't like us using IBM solutions. So, no...we're not familiar with it." 08:05 < Evilpig> lol 08:05 < Evilpig> I think we had some ibm something or other at vandy for license audits maybe? bigfix? 08:19 <@Mirage> For the *nix boxes they mostly use eDirectory and iManager, which both apparently started life as Novell Directory Services. Their NAS solution is IBM Elastic Storage. "reverse proxy" (essentially a massively dumbed down F5) is another IBM thing. They have at least a couple AIX 'PowerVM' environments (IBM's hypervisor-type solution), which is apparently the only virtual environment that has resources 08:19 <@Mirage> for new deployments as their ESX environment is oversubscribed (go figure). 08:20 <@Mirage> The crazy spaghetti that VU was when I first started has NOTHING on this place 10:18 <@Dagmar> That's kind of impressive 10:30 < Evilpig> Dagmar: you can tell audra that I have been delivered discovery from the lunatic crew in VA. and ashley's attorney is now representing her sister as well. 12:56 < Evilpig> I like the description of this one. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/975773 12:56 < PigBot> Wicked Little Letters (2024) — The Movie Database (TMDB) (at www.themoviedb.org) https://tinyurl.com/2dnzsgas 13:28 < Synx_> we need rfid or something else implants that store our current med status (scripts, diagnosis, etc), will or power of attorney, and things like DNR 13:29 < Synx_> or an id that directs you to this data online 13:30 <@Dagmar> ...and we can even have the Chinese host it for us 13:35 < Synx_> haha ya, and im sure the christians out there are going to call it the mark of the beast 13:36 < Synx_> but seriously as a standard like for pets, a system like that would be extremely helpful for ER staff and first responders 13:37 < Synx_> i dont want to have to be resuscitated just to tell them that i didn't want to be resuscitated 13:38 < Synx_> thanks for breaking my ribs can you stop and let me die now please 13:59 < Evilpig> I like the idea, but if you had it simple like rfid and I bumped up against you in the subway with a smartphone and just overwrote it. even encryption wouldn't help because you'd ahve to make keys available to doctors, etc and those would leak 14:00 < Synx_> ya good point 14:01 < Evilpig> having just collected all my medical records it would be convenient to have a quicker way to do that too 14:22 < Synx_> ya my records are spread out all over the country 14:23 < Synx_> at least i got the stuff all together from mil time 14:29 < Synx_> i guess in the future, something that has compute so it can do crypto/auth like a CA that hospitals get etc and can be powered wirelessly 14:55 < Evilpig> https://www.facebook.com/billy.manspeaker/posts/pfbid0U4gpCHTxYUB4n8kgKDMArzryzTHeLdWF5BHtaLcQeAabEDBu7KubHhp2VokEdosvl 14:55 < PigBot> Facebook (at www.facebook.com) https://tinyurl.com/2ypq4qsq --- Log closed Thu Apr 11 00:00:29 2024
