But I know what you'd like to stop caring about. 07:47 < Evilpig> checking out the latest installment in the aquaman shitshow this morning 07:48 < Evilpig> also got woken up to my nas shutting down from a temperature alert 07:49 < Evilpig> went ahead and cleaned it out at 5:45 this morning, my poor new downstairs neighbors had to hear the aircompressor kick on first this this morning so that's a great introduction 08:06 <@Dolemite> Yeah, I noticed Aquaman and also Migration downloaded overnight 08:06 <@Dolemite> letting Tdarr have its way with them right now 08:09 < Evilpig> wish appeared too 08:10 <@Dolemite> that was the day before 08:11 <@Dolemite> I need to research new movies. My Radarr list is rather small, again. 08:11 < Evilpig> you must have an indexer that had something earlier than me because i've been watching for wish for buckley and it wasn't there yesterday 08:11 <@Dolemite> Had the Regal Unlimited pass for a few months... nothing was worth going to see, so we canceled it. 08:12 <@Dolemite> lemme look and make sure Wish isn't some stupid cam version it snagged by accident 08:12 < Evilpig> I thought about going to the movies this last weekend and had zero motivation for it. the money aspect of it was a straight no 08:12 <@Dolemite> Yep, mine looks fine 08:13 <@Dolemite> Ok, not as early as I thought. Looks like I grabbed it yesterday late afternoon. 08:13 <@Dolemite> But I remembered moving it to the Tdarr queue yesterday. 08:16 < Evilpig> not automatic? 08:17 < Evilpig> when I added in my tv shows directory to the auto-scan I put a delay on it of 24 hours so that the files can get upgraded and not waste time transcoding 08:17 < Evilpig> should work just as well for your incoming stuff. 08:17 <@Dolemite> No because I actually still sort my movies into genre folders 08:19 < Evilpig> crazy person 08:23 <@Dolemite> yeah, yeah 09:06 <@Mirage> hrm, mine didn't grab Wonka or the new Aquaman automagically. Weird... 09:11 <@Mirage> Of course I was messing with the NAS until ~3am. Was able to get all the VMs shifted off the one w/ the "boot pool" error to the backup. After rebooting it a couple times everything came up fine and the errors were cleared. Not sure what was up with that. 09:11 <@Mirage> Sooo much fun migrating back/forth between the two of them.. =( 09:13 <@Mirage> Afterward, for whatever reason, Plex decided that it needed to rescan EVERYTHING for metadata/credits/etc, which was making everything painfully slow. 09:15 <@Mirage> Dolemite: My copy of Wish looks like CGI that was run through a filter to make it look like film. Not sure if that's how it should be or if this is a crap copy. 09:16 <@Dolemite> I never saw in the theater, so no clue if that's just the style or not. I'll probably peep at Pig's copy and see if they look the same. 09:20 <@Mirage> It's gotta be something pretty big/exciting for me to even think about seeing it in a theatre any more. Not in the mood for the experience and certainly not in the mood for the inflated prices. 09:22 <@Mirage> Gonna watch the new-new Wonka movie in a bit. I'm sure it won't be nearly as good as the last one w/o Zafar being in it. =) 09:24 <@Mirage> Ugh, Plex is _still_ scanning for intros and shit. 09:25 < Evilpig> lol 09:26 < Evilpig> set your butler times to do it when you aren't using it 09:26 < Evilpig> wonka wasn't bad actually. it got alot of hate but it was a different version of the story and I kinda enjoyed it 09:28 < Evilpig> and it looks like that's the animation style for wish 09:31 <@Mirage> Never got around to finishing the RH training crap and certainly didn't get around to taking the tests, so I did a quick CompTIA "IT Operations Specialist" cert as my 'obtain an industry certification' goal. Just forwarded the new 'badge' to my mgr... maybe he needs a good laugh this morning. 09:32 <@Dolemite> Thank ${deity} we don't have that kind of crap goal anymore. 09:32 <@Dolemite> We have a goal to improve ourselves and it's not even required to be related to your job. It could be "Learn to play the harmonica" 09:35 <@Mirage> That sounds like a pig goal. 09:36 <@Dolemite> No, Pig's would be "Teach nephews to play harmonica" 09:36 <@Dolemite> +badly 09:39 <@Mirage> Yesterday my old manager reached out to all of her 'Dell' friends via Facebook asking us all to go to her resume posting on LinkdIn and pimp her up. Apparently her leaving a couple years ago for greener pastures didn't work out so well and she was layed off back in May and unemployed since. When I pulled up her resume thing at least 5-6 Dell folks had already posted shit on there for her so I passed on 09:39 <@Mirage> adding more. 09:40 <@Mirage> Hahahehahaheheheh.... Mgr just responded back to my email w/ "GOOD JOB!!!!" ROFL... 09:42 <@Mirage> I'm also claiming having lunch w/ one of my coworkers a couple times over the summer as being the 'hold a lunch/learn session' goal. We talked about work stuff, so I think that counts. 09:45 < Evilpig> i've been reporting to my manager about our efforts to eliminate technical debt and made some headway the last few days 11:06 < Evilpig> the cheese in this aquaman movie has pulled me out of it every time. they should have fired whatever director/writer was pushing for the campy humor and this could have been a success 11:20 <@Dolemite> Man, I'd never read any comics with Echo in them, but I gotta say, Vincent Donofrio's Kingpin is spot on in the series. 11:21 <@Mirage> Had it on the other day and my cousin walked in, took one glance at the screen and said "It's Leonard!" 11:22 <@Mirage> Until he said that I hadn't made the connection...now I can't unsee it. 11:22 < Evilpig> lol 13:29 < dasunt_> Didn't someone work for Asterisk back in the day. 13:38 <@Dolemite> yeah, Corydon did at one point 13:39 <@opticron> several of us worked for Digium at one point 14:00 < Evilpig> oh man. I should fill this out and be a good citizen 14:00 < Evilpig> U.S. Census Bureau: An important survey on the economy, health and education. https://survey.census.gov/s/b/jxakFNZ5 Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for more info. 14:00 < PigBot> (at survey.census.gov) http://tinyurl.com/ymlm67v4 14:00 < Evilpig> just got that as a text message 14:00 < Evilpig> they do have a legit .gov address at least 14:27 < dasunt_> Dealing with some sort of telephony software called Unimax 2nd Nature, wondering if the Digium guys ever heard of it and what there opinion was. 14:31 <@Mirage> "Fake Biden robocall tells Democrats to skip New Hampshire primary" 14:32 <@Mirage> The clip they play sounds more like someone spliced a bunch of sound clips than being AI generated as the news is saying 14:41 <@opticron> dasunt_, I haven't ever heard of it, but I didn't dabble at all in things that were built on top of asterisk or any other related top-end software 14:53 < dasunt_> I think this is a separate software, just curious if anyone had an impression of it. 22:14 <@Dagmar> Mirage: Way too many news sites are now twisting their reporting according to whatever search terms are trending is why they're quick to claim it's AI 22:14 <@Dagmar> I have found it helps to just tell Google Discover certain sites can fuck right off 22:16 <@Dagmar> There's something screwey with the DNS for that survey.census.gov site 22:16 <@Dagmar> I think they might have actually screwed up their signing --- Log closed Wed Jan 24 00:00:07 2024
