I need to replace a vanity light in the downstairs bathroom 11:55 < Evilpig> can you live stream that? 11:55 < Evilpig> might be entertaining for us 12:06 <@Dagmar> ALl it would be would be me cussing about having to stand on a marble sinktop with my knees 12:06 <@Dagmar> I'm replacing the vanity light and the two light switches 12:07 <@Dagmar> It'll maybe take 40 minutes tops 12:07 <@Dagmar> ...and half that time will be me cleaning up the wires because the people who lived here before did a lot of DIY shit and had very low standards 12:08 <@Dagmar> If I get in there and every fuckin' wire is the same color I will not be particularly surprised 12:09 <@Dagmar> If lighting weren't, you know, somewhat tied to the presence of electricity (this bathroom is "very" interior so I could do this at 3am just as easily) I would consider videoing it 12:09 <@Dagmar> As it stands I'm going to be putting a glass of water on my cell phone 12:10 <@Dagmar> I feel dumb Audra fussed and got me to throw out the old bottle of "Smart Water" that was in the downstairs fridge. Doing that with it was exactly why I'd kept it 12:11 < Evilpig> ohhhh this cunt... she has no clue. she just pulled page from a draft version of a lease they had on file for me and tried to force me to pay my rent electronically through their system that charges for the privilege 12:12 < Evilpig> I get a 3% fee on credit card transactions because at these rent rates that is significant, but an ach doesn't generally cost anything and they want me to pay them $2.50 each month to make one 12:12 < Evilpig> go pound sand! 12:13 <@Dagmar> THey're using some payment processor that charges $2.50 12:13 < Evilpig> yup 12:13 < Evilpig> the week after she took over from the previous manager that was let go I told her of this fee and that I wasn't going to pay it and that should be one of the thigns she tackles immediately if they want their money quickly 12:14 < Evilpig> I wasn't sure if the previous manager picked the payment portal or if it was a corporate decision and she agreed at the last three properties she's managed ach didn't have a fee associated with that transaction 12:17 < Evilpig> this is going to go one of two ways. either she submits and accepts my checks in the office as usual and as described in my signed and legally executed lease. OR she refuses my check in the office and tries to claim that I haven't paid rent and moves for an eviction for lack of payment. 12:17 < Evilpig> Only one of these options ends well, for them. both options end with me moving next summer when my lease is up, 100% 12:22 < Evilpig> in addition to sending her the actual lease, and not the draft she tried to pass off to me like I'm a fucking twit. I sent along the portion of the email between me and the previous manager. 12:22 < Evilpig> "Okay then, I just need that little box on the lease checked so that it’s clear and in writing that payment is accepted in the office. I don’t care how what you advertise, this lease isn’t public record. This is an agreement between two parties for services and this outlines the terms of that agreement. At the point at which I sign, and that box isn’t checked, I’m consenting to only paying through the portal. While your word is good between us and this email would be an argument for a court, I’d just prefer to have it all in black and white clearly in a single document. 12:22 < Evilpig> I hope you understand where I’m coming from." 12:23 < Evilpig> at that point I went down to the office, he printed the lease, checked the box, signed off on it. and we both got our signed copies 12:37 <@Dagmar> Ah-ha! 12:37 <@Dagmar> I was just searching through Amazon looking for some rechargable camp lantern and remembered... I *bought* a pair of safety glasses with flashlights built in just for this kind of shit 12:38 <@Dagmar> I also bought like 30 of the little CR1632 batteries they use (because you can't sensibly buy more than two dozen of those little fuckers at once on Amazon) and have been keeping them in the downstairs fridge 12:39 <@Dagmar> Now I just gotta clean myself up and puy my contacts back in 13:42 <@Dagmar> LOL Batteries+Bulbs thinks I'm going to pay $48 for a battery I can get through Amazon (and dozens of other places online) for $25 14:01 <@Dagmar> I just found a good way to solve an "Audra problem" 14:01 <@Dagmar> I told her "No popsicle foreskins in the sink" 14:55 <@Dagmar> Ugh. Now I have to order a replacement dryer lint flap 15:26 -!- nihil [~nil@198.52.103.230] has quit [Quit: .] 15:26 -!- nihil [~nil@198.52.103.230] has joined #se2600 23:33 <@Dagmar> I have to say I'm a little disappointed 23:34 <@Dagmar> I expected to see Las Vegas flooded on their webcams by now --- Log closed Sun Aug 20 00:00:36 2023
