I remember when the jump from freenode was made it wasn't to another IRC server, but my memory isn't great :( 14:20 <@Dagmar> Anyone ever run into an issue with NFS where everything works, but you (for wahtever reason) can't list the contents of directories? 14:20 <@Dagmar> The mounted directory is using no_root_squash, and is even 777, but shows no files 14:21 <@Dolemite> check the permissions of the mount pount before you mount the NFS share 14:21 <@Dagmar> From the mounted side I can create a subdir there, cd into it, and even read the write files, but I can't do a simple ls 14:23 <@Dagmar> The mountpoint itself shoudln't affect a damn thing. It _was_ 700 root:sys, but no one (not even root) could list files 14:23 <@Dagmar> Just to avoid issues I've gotten into the habit of setting mountpoints mode 000 so nothing can be accidentally written in there (and then lost) before the whatever is mounted 14:24 <@Dagmar> I'm pretty convinced at this point that it's SCO UNIX shitware 14:41 < Evilpig> Dagmar: yeah i've seen that when it comes to file locking 14:42 < Evilpig> ie you have an active copy going on and it tries to lock the file to get the details and hangs until the lock times out 14:45 <@Dagmar> Nah this is a brand new share 14:46 <@Dagmar> The server is shipping a bunch of other shares (mounted in multiple different ways) jsut fine 14:46 <@Dagmar> This particular share is being exported to a specific piece of crap that only understands NFSv3 over UDP 14:47 <@Dagmar> ...so I'm about to go rummage through the firewall logs looking for anything. 14:47 <@Dagmar> I found mention of _one_ exports option related to NFSv3 and directories, so I flipped it on because why the hell not. No change. 15:14 < brimstone> Synx_hm: i think we waffled a bit, then came here. 15:15 < brimstone> libre has a matrix bridge, you can join this channel from a matrix client, but you have to stay active (a message a day or something?) else they boot you and some clients have issues reconnecting to the channel. Maybe that's all fixed now though 15:39 < Synx_hm> brimstone, sweet thank you! 15:41 -!- Synx_hm is now known as Synx_ --- Log closed Thu Jun 15 00:00:11 2023
