Keeping in mind this is directly run from the battery to the tool cubby by the spare tire in the trunk. They seemed to think that was the power wire for the alarm system. 08:17 <@Mirage> Also, they informed me that the check engine light that was "on when I dropped it off" was still on because it was for the knock sensor which needs to be replaced. 08:18 <@Mirage> I pointed out quite quickly when the "Service Advisor" was explaining this that neither of those things made any sense because the Amp isn't connected to anything having to do with the computer/ignition/etc, and there wasn't any check engine light on when I dropped it off. 08:20 <@Mirage> After reminding him of why I dropped it off for them to work on and the long list of troubleshooting steps and already replaced parts and such which lead up to determining it was a bad head gasket he agreed that IF the light had been on when I dropped it off that I absolutely would have mentioned it. 08:20 <@Mirage> So, they're supposed to order a new knock sensor and fix it for free when it comes in. 08:23 <@Mirage> Did 5-min google/youtube search on the knock sensor in these 1.7L engines and am wondering if it's even the knock sensor itself that's bad. There's a known issue that the plastic holder for the wiring harness going to that sensor breaking and then the wiring being worn through by the belt and causing a short. 08:24 <@Mirage> After this training class is done for today I'll probably go do a visual inspection on the wiring harness where it runs there by the belts to see if that's what the problem is. 08:24 <@Mirage> Or, of course, the tech just didn't plug it back in. 08:45 <@Dolemite> Evilpig: It's HASHTAG HANNAMIL 09:11 <@Dolemite> ok, time to go see the doc about trying to fix my wegovy prescription 09:12 <@Dolemite> Haven't been able to get any because my existing one had 2 months left, but insurance won't pay for it through Walgreen's anymore and Express Scripts won't transfer less than a 3 months supply 11:01 < Evilpig> I thought the HDR on this muppets was wonky but it's just how they filmed it. the live action bits are a tad muted. the minecraft stuff they are showing is much more vibrant 11:02 < Evilpig> unless it;s the source. if it was a rip vs a download their client could have ripped a bad color profile 11:02 <@Dolemite> Man, my Robinhood account is way up today, which can only mean one thing. It's going to drop 50% next week. 11:07 <@Dolemite> An another note, though, doctor bumped me up to 1.7mg WeGovy and sent it in to ExpressScripts directly 11:07 <@Dolemite> A1C is down to 5.8 11:09 < Evilpig> good deal 11:10 < Evilpig> I had a chat with mine yesterday about that. he was wanting to lower my dosage back to ozemic and I reminded him that I was on that for a year and gained weight and was still ahving sugar control issues. it wasn't til the higher dose that it stabilized me. 11:10 < Evilpig> he confirmed with my chart and said "well let's just leave that where it is then" 11:14 <@Dolemite> yeah, my previous doctor I didn't care much for, so when he left the practice I didn't even ask about following him. My current doctor listens to me, so when she said she was leaving, I asked where and it's about 2 miles away from the current office, so I told her I'd move with her. 11:15 <@Dolemite> Apparently the one she's at right now has to actually do all of the running-the-business stuff in addition to being a medical doctor... she's moving to one that's part of a medical group where she can just be a medical doctor, again 11:43 <@Mirage> Something is screwy w/ the audio header in the new case. With the front audio cable connected my sound card refuses to output to the speakers. As soon as I unplugged the cable everything went back to normal. 11:46 <@Mirage> Also, the new case uses a "USB 3.1 Front Panel Socket A" connector, which my board doesn't have. Ordering an adaptor from Amazon to be able to plug it into the normal USB3. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B094R7PDM1/ 11:46 < PigBot> Amazon.com (at www.amazon.com) https://tinyurl.com/2kj587k3 12:03 <@aestetix> Evilpig: is there a medical diagnosis for someone who is addicted to watching bad reality tv shows? 12:07 < Evilpig> yes. "bored" 12:08 < Evilpig> Mirage: what's the difference? the plug detction portion? 12:08 <@Mirage> On the audio? 12:09 < Evilpig> yeah 12:09 < Evilpig> the difference between the headers 12:09 <@Mirage> Dunno. My guess would be that the headphone jack is probably messed up and reading restistance on it and fooling the card into thinking something is plugged in 12:11 <@Mirage> Oh, for the USB. The only real thing I can find is that supposedly anything using the "USB3.1 Front Panel Socket A" isn't backward compatible. 12:11 <@aestetix> you should be courageous and remove the headphone jack 12:26 <@Mirage> One of the L2 guys just asked me if there was an easier way to create user accounts across various linux hosts besides logging into each, pasting in "user add ", then setting the password w/ "echo '' | passwd --stdin " 12:27 <@Mirage> I'm not even gonna try to turn them on to using expect because I don't need that headache. I also told them that setting the password like that was beyond stupid because it then gets logged for anyone to be able to see. 12:28 <@Mirage> He responded that he'd forgotten the last line "chage " and claimed that was supposed to expire the password they just set and force the user to change it...which is doesn't. 12:47 < Evilpig> that's the type of thing i'd likely just respond to with "I haven't got the bandwidth to deal with this today" 12:51 <@Mirage> If I was doing it and it wasn't too too many hosts I'd just run the useradd and chage commands through ssh to create the user and set policy, then run `sudo passwd ` on each via ssh and just paste in the password until they were all done 12:51 <@Mirage> I would suggest that they just use ssh keys and call it good, but that would be unreasonable. =/ 14:18 <@aestetix> Evilpig: is there a way in rutorrent to filter out torrent names that match a pattern? 14:36 <@Dagmar> Awww... 14:36 <@Dagmar> When there's 14:36 <@Dagmar> er... when there's an autocomplex box and a validation error in a webpage, Chrome puts the autocomplete box over the validation error message. :/ 14:42 < Evilpig> aestetix: I use rutorrent for that type of thing 14:43 < Evilpig> look at the autotools plugin 14:43 <@aestetix> ok 14:44 <@Dagmar> I just encrypt the password and shove it into the password file 14:45 < Evilpig> https://github.com/Novik/ruTorrent/wiki/PluginAutotools 14:45 < PigBot> PluginAutotools · Novik/ruTorrent Wiki · GitHub (at github.com) https://tinyurl.com/yckob6hl 14:46 <@Mirage> Dagmar: Yeah, it's not hard...unless your an L2 guy in India who's incapable of pretty much any critical thought. 14:58 -!- Mirage [~mirage@ra.thehippo.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 16:02 -!- brimstone [~brimstone@sprinkle.cloud] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 16:02 -!- brimstone [~brimstone@sprinkle.cloud] has joined #se2600 --- Log closed Thu May 18 00:00:27 2023
