There could be more deeper in the queue. 08:22 < Evilpig> mine finally finished plowing through the archives so i've started shuffling content around from the active tv directory to archives. trying to get it all into some type of sane managed config 08:22 < Evilpig> this way as stuff gets transcoded it doesn't get watched by sonarr anymore, etc 08:45 <@Dagmar> Love hearing the windows admins hem and haw because they can't remember how to find where people are authenticating to Outlook from 08:45 <@Dagmar> smh 09:18 < Evilpig> heh 09:19 < Evilpig> I'm having fun setting up jump hosts in ssh with smart cards 09:19 < Evilpig> back to trying to get sssd to read smart cards from ad for auth. :-/ 09:36 < Evilpig> I finally got around to checking out http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=419879 and I'd say it's close to monk or the mentalist in feel 09:36 < PigBot> Will Trent - TheTVDB.com (at www.thetvdb.com) https://tinyurl.com/2hqdxn7x 09:36 < Evilpig> maybe psych if they'd add more comedy 09:59 <@Mirage> I'm having fun trying to get VMware Workstation updated on my work laptop. They replaced the "Dell Software Center" with "VMware Workspace One" and Workstation isn't listed in it. They removed our local admin rights, so I had to install the "LAR IT Tool" from Workspace One to "elevate my priv to Local Admin for 12h" in order to run the installer for VMware Workstation 17 since, for whatever reason, my 09:59 <@Mirage> installed v16.2.3 doesn't even list the v16.2.4 update as an option. 10:04 <@Mirage> Each time you need to elevate privs you have to re-install the LAR Tool.. and of course installing VMware Workstation requires reboots which logs you out and drops your privs 11:17 <@Dagmar> Fuck VMware 11:51 <@Mirage> Ugh, customer is wanting us to enable discard/fstrim on all their linux VMs for 'vSAN storage reclaimation' 11:52 <@Mirage> Personally I think their Unix guys who handle the scripts that have to be run for doing patching need to add this activity to their prepatch script vs us having to mess with it. 11:56 <@Mirage> What's fucked up, IMO, is that normal VMFS6 volumes by default have storage reclaimation performed automagically unless you disable it, but on the vSAN it has to be manually enabled in order to able to be performed via UNMAP. 13:21 -!- Mirage [~mirage@ra.thehippo.net] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 13:32 -!- Mirage [~mirage@ra.thehippo.net] has joined #se2600 13:33 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o Mirage] by ChanServ 13:47 <@Mirage> m.2 WD Red?! https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-red-sa500-1tb/p/N82E16820250127 13:47 < PigBot> Western Digital WD Red SA500 M.2 2280 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T1R0B - Newegg.com (at www.newegg.com) https://tinyurl.com/2pscnf78 13:48 <@Mirage> Ahh, this makes sense: "Storage optimized for caching in NAS systems to rapidly access your most frequently used files." 13:53 < Evilpig> I looked at putting some cache in my nas but I don't do any file storage that would benefit from it 14:02 <@Mirage> When I first saw that pop up I was imagining the insanity of buying a bunch of those for raid 14:28 <@Dolemite> LOL, someone really didn't think all of their signage through. https://twitter.com/zillowgonewild/status/1516071586264141827/photo/4 14:28 < PigBot> No Title (at twitter.com) https://tinyurl.com/2fdlqxxb 14:29 <@Dolemite> Nothing like a Michael's sign over the bed that says "Welcome to Poundtown" 14:36 < Evilpig> heh 14:46 < Evilpig> wtf are these guys insane? https://forums.sonarr.tv/t/sonarr-v4-beta/31078 14:46 < PigBot> Sonarr v4 - Beta - Announcements - sonarr :: forums (at forums.sonarr.tv) https://tinyurl.com/2jdb6n9l 14:46 < Evilpig> - Upgraded to .NET 6, mono is no longer supported 14:46 < Evilpig> - Linux x86 and BSD are no longer supported 19:40 <@Dagmar> Dolemite: I'm pretty sure someone put some thought into the signage in the bedroom 19:49 <@Dagmar> One might even surmise they thought long and hard about it. --- Log closed Thu Jan 19 00:00:30 2023
