The writing supported it. I'm with you on the Higgins bit, though, but I think it's because every time I see her fight I think about how tiny she is and that a stiff breeze could knock her over. 06:20 <@Dolemite> But having an opinion on it doesn't make you racist/misogynistic 07:52 <@Mirage> Learning *tons* in this Infoblox training this morning. 07:52 * Mirage beats head on desk 07:53 < Evilpig> oh my 07:53 < Evilpig> I've got some infoblox notes that you might find useful 07:53 < Evilpig> stuff like how to get data out of the embedded splunk instance 07:54 <@Mirage> It's a customer lead "class" they're requiring us to attend before they grant us access for managing DHCP reservations for the vlans/subnets assigned to the environment we're contracted to manage 07:55 < Evilpig> well that sounds like useless, but for your indian counterparts probably necessary 07:55 <@Mirage> yeah 07:56 <@Mirage> I've already jumped in and made some clarifications on a couple things he's said that weren't wrong..but also weren't entirely correct 08:03 <@Mirage> I'm pulling down My Name is Earl bluray rips. Plex on FireTV doesn't appear to like the old as hell .avi's I have too much and playback is jerky. 08:03 <@Dolemite> I've been slowly replacing my old avi files with much higher quality mp4 and mkv versions 08:04 <@Mirage> Been watching it on my workstation for the most part while working, but last night the wife wanted to watch it together in the front room because she liked the show too and got tired of looking over my shoulder last night 08:04 <@Dolemite> heh 08:04 < Evilpig> oh damn. I still have those in avi too 08:04 < Evilpig> I shoudl replace those as well 08:05 <@Mirage> Dolemite: I did a lot of that a while ago...for what was available 08:05 < Evilpig> I've also had lastchild working his way through my sd movies and replacing them with 1080+ 08:05 <@Dolemite> Mirage: Well I'm doing a very slow march of cleanup. If I have it and haven't watched it in ages and don't see myself watching it again, I'm 86'ing it. If it survives that test, I see about upgrades. 08:07 < Evilpig> and as much as I know y'all don't care, HA!, my movie conversion project has reclaimed close to 9TB now on converting all the hd movies to x265 08:08 <@opticron> dayum 08:09 <@Mirage> it screws up my normal 'sort by date' method of seeing what you've snagged recently 08:11 <@Dolemite> Mirage: You could always script it to grab the original mtime and then after the conversion set the mtime back to the original 08:12 <@Mirage> Evilpig: ^^ 08:12 <@Dolemite> LOL, or you could wait for Evilpig to do that 08:12 < Evilpig> I can look into seeing if tdarr can do that 08:14 <@Mirage> BTW, the GTX-1050ti that I used for testing/validating being able to use cuda w/ ffmpeg and hardware encoding in plex has been working nicely so far, so will probably be yanking the Quatro P2000 from the plex box and jamming it in one of my ESXi hosts 08:15 <@Mirage> er, Quadro, not Quatro. Close enough 08:17 <@Mirage> heh, took them long enough. Ppl have been repoting sightings for several years. https://ktul.com/news/local/nine-foot-long-alligator-euthanized-at-claremore-lake 08:17 < PigBot> 9-foot-long alligator euthanized at Claremore Lake | KTUL (at ktul.com) https://tinyurl.com/y6qhxjce 08:19 <@Mirage> lol.. https://ktul.com/news/offbeat/driver-sentenced-for-having-sex-during-high-speed-police-chase-mount-gambier-south-australia-intercourse-while-driving-sex-during-pursuit-road-loving-joshua-james-childs-decapitate-neighbors-kids-children 08:19 < PigBot> Driver sentenced for having sex during high-speed police chase | KTUL (at ktul.com) https://tinyurl.com/y4us5m32 08:23 <@Dolemite> Thinking of picking up a GT 730 fanless low profile to see if I can pass that through proxmox for gpu enabled encoding 08:27 <@Mirage> This is another option as well.. https://ktul.com/news/offbeat/driver-sentenced-for-having-sex-during-high-speed-police-chase-mount-gambier-south-australia-intercourse-while-driving-sex-during-pursuit-road-loving-joshua-james-childs-decapitate-neighbors-kids-children 08:27 < PigBot> Driver sentenced for having sex during high-speed police chase | KTUL (at ktul.com) 08:27 <@Mirage> oops, 08:27 <@Mirage> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E9Z2D60/?th=1 08:27 < PigBot> Amazon.com: ZOTAC GeForce GT 710 1GB DDR3 PCIE x 1 , DVI, HDMI, VGA, Low Profile Graphic Card (ZT-71304-20L) : Electronics (at www.amazon.com) https://tinyurl.com/y6ft67p6 08:28 <@Mirage> I've got several of those that I use because they're fanless and only need a 1x slot vs 16x slot 08:29 <@Dolemite> Are you stacking multiple in the same box? 08:29 <@Dolemite> Or just multiples across multiple boxes? 08:31 <@Mirage> I use those in my servers so I don't have to eat up a 16x slot that may be needed for a raid controller, fibre HBA, etc 08:33 <@Mirage> That and the fact that with most boards, you can't choose what card will be the 'default' and whatever is plugged into a 16x slot will always take precedent. 08:34 <@Mirage> That's actually the issue I was running into w/ VMware because I was jamming in a 16x card that I wanted to passthrough which the BIOS would use over the 1x I normally used for video. 08:36 <@Mirage> I finally found a setting you can enable in ESXi to specify which video card to use for the system, which allowed me to passthrough the one that I wanted. The downside for me is that it's not 100%, so when ESXi is booting up and hits the xorg driver which specifies the "other" video card (vs what the BIOS wants to use), the console display freezes at that point. 08:38 <@Mirage> So long as I never need to actually log into the local console plugged into my KVM everything is fine. 08:39 <@Dolemite> Well I may try one of those after I get back from vacation. I already have enough projects added to my plate for the next week, including yesterday's realization that the starter on my lawnmower had finally given out. Replacing it is easier than figuring out what part number to replace it with would be. 08:40 <@Dolemite> But I got one ordered last night, should be here before the weekend. 08:52 <@Dolemite> Hrmm. That could breathe life back into my PowerEdge R410 that is currently turned off. It has a single x16 slot that I could put one of these fanless GT730s in and just not virtualize the box. 08:55 <@aestetix> do any of you have an account with myanonamous? 08:58 <@Mirage> There's an x1 730 from Zotac as well...but it's pricey. https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-Express-Graphics-ZT-71107-10L/dp/B00LZKWVJW/ 08:58 < PigBot> Amazon.com: ZOTAC GeForce GT 730 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x1 Graphics Card (ZT-71107-10L) : Electronics (at www.amazon.com) https://tinyurl.com/y2xl8u8p 08:59 <@Dolemite> Dare I push the limit to this one? 08:59 <@Dolemite> https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics-GT1030-2G-CSM/dp/B0716ZH99K?th=1 08:59 < PigBot> Amazon.com: Asus GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 HDMI DVI Graphics Card (GT1030-2G-CSM) : Everything Else (at www.amazon.com) https://tinyurl.com/y3y5rd76 08:59 <@Mirage> Of course the 710's are as well now compared to when I bought the 5-6 of them I have at like $49 or less 09:03 <@Mirage> comparatively speaking, I didn't see that much difference in encoding speed using ffmpg going from a 700 series to a 900 series and then to the 1050/p2000. The main thing you need to worry about, which is the only reason i ever changed cards, is which chip is required to support the encoding/decoding you'll be doing. In order to encode x265/h265 I had to go to at least a pascal for ffmpeg..otherwise it 09:03 <@Mirage> would just puke out a bunch of errors 09:03 <@Dolemite> The 1030 has a TDP of 30W. That should do rather well. It also has double the pipelines/cores of the 710. 09:04 <@Dolemite> The 1030 is pascal architecture 09:04 <@Mirage> correct, like the 1050 09:05 < Evilpig> I wish I could use one of my gpu's to encode these. everytime I've done it the quality goes to crap and the file sizes are maybe 10% less instead of doing CPU encoding and i'm getting file sizes up to 80% less and no artifacting 09:06 <@Dolemite> Evilpig: midget porn has always been elusive to GPU optimization 09:19 < Evilpig> Have y'all seen "The Seniors in the Hall"? https://www.instagram.com/p/CdYelgluUf7/ 09:19 < PigBot> @jimnorton on Instagram: “It was such a great time with @kithonline this morning. Normal people who are living in the house aren't going to have that unless it's for a big remodel and then what's in the dumster would be completely different. 12:57 < Evilpig> Even if that's what he thought. Taking something off the side of the house would be a no no. At that point he might as well go inside and help himself to the plumbing and wiring 15:00 < Evilpig> importing the last of earl in 1080 x265 now 15:01 < Evilpig> season 3 and those long episodes where the scene decided to be douche canoes and list them as two parters... 15:16 <@Mirage> Evilpig: Didn't say it would make it right, just that I'd bet that's what he thought/assumed. 15:22 <@Mirage> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLMp-1NdzR8 15:22 < PigBot> Roe v.
