I had to remux the subtitles. :-/ 11:10 <@Dolemite> It's on Netflix so I'll just watch it from there 11:31 <@Mirage_> Dropped wife off at the airport this morning. She's going to her sister's baby shower. Unfortunately there were several bacon-wrapped stuffed jalepenos and pork chops left over that I'm going to have to eat myself. Gonna be rough. 11:31 <@Mirage_> =) 11:42 < Evilpig> lol 11:47 <@eryc> disney+ is adding imax versions 11:48 <@eryc> they have smaller black bars 12:03 -!- decius [~decius@108-210-180-90.lightspeed.tukrga.sbcglobal.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds] 14:36 <@eryc> i bought 3 of these last week https://www.amazon.com/AOC-CU32V3-Super-Curved-Coverage-DisplayPort/dp/B083TDZJD7/ 14:36 < PigBot> Amazon.com: AOC CU32V3 32" Super-Curved 4K UHD monitor, 1500R Curved VA, 4ms, 121% sRGB Coverage / 90% DCI-P3, HDMI 2.0/DisplayPort, VESA, Black : Electronics (at www.amazon.com) https://tinyurl.com/yzmq3odw 14:38 < Evilpig> that's alot of monitor 19:09 -!- ZachGibbens [~ZachGibbe@user/zachgibbens] has quit [Quit: ZNC - https://znc.in] 19:46 <@Mirage_> arrrrrgggggghhhhh!?!?!? 19:47 <@Mirage_> I get called and dragged into a trouble escalation because the "L2 team wants an L3 to join because they don't feel comfortable with what it looks like has to be done." 19:48 <@Mirage_> So I join and whomever it is on the vCenter console of the box just keeps happily poking along at whetever the fuck they're doing...not entirely sure what they are trying to accomplish because they aren't saying anything in the meeting. 19:50 < Evilpig> where's the part where they dump the storage lun and free the blocks containing the images to make it go faster? 19:52 < Evilpig> if this story ends as you got a phone i'm giving it a 1 out of 10, would not listen to again. 19:52 < Evilpig> phone call* 19:53 <@Mirage_> I was taking note of the fact that I didn't see any snapshots or clones that had been taken before starting to do whatever recovery they're trying on this OEL7 box. Got nothing from anyone. This host appears to be a RHEL6 host that was migrated to OEL7 at some point, and now isn't booting. 19:53 < Evilpig> oooo gross 19:54 <@Mirage_> What little info I did get when they called me to join is that there are not VM image backups like normal because it's an Oracle box. Instead they have backups of the database being taken by one system and normal os backups by some other system. 21:13 <@Mirage_> I can't believe that they started working on recovering this box from a supposedly catastrophic disk corruption issue w/o making a clone of it or at the very least taking a snapshot. 21:14 <@Mirage_> What's weird/crazy is that after whoever it was on the console got done mucking with it in recovery mode and was never able to mount the filesystem after multiple attempts that they disconnected the OEL7 ISO from it, rebooted, and the damned thing came up. 21:14 <@Mirage_> Now they're REALLY confused 21:16 <@Mirage_> RE: Red Notice. Wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it was still quite entertaining. 21:19 <@Mirage_> OMG. When the box mysteriously came up that one time I said, "OK, now before we do anything else let's get a clone made of it just in case." I kicked off the cloning, which is gonna take a bit (3.38T of disk). After about 10 minutes a DBA hopped in the call to verify everything looked good on the Oracle side of things and they just told him to start up his applications. The clone is only at 35%. --- Log closed Sat Nov 13 00:00:57 2021
