Change Management has officially jumped into joke territory at this point. We're now required to put in the change 3 business days before the CAB. Not 3 days in advance of the change but the freakin' CAB meeting. 09:35 -!- npcomp [~user@209.195.0.146] has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds] 09:41 -!- Dolemite [~scott@h69-131-213-251.cncrtn.broadband.dynamic.tds.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 09:41 -!- Dolemite [~scott@h69-131-213-251.cncrtn.broadband.dynamic.tds.net] has joined #se2600 09:41 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o Dolemite] by ChanServ 09:43 -!- npcomp [~user@209.195.0.146] has joined #se2600 10:09 <@Mirage> Cats just kill me sometimes. 10:09 <@Mirage> Cat toy...might play with it, for a bit, but only when you're not looking 10:10 <@Mirage> Wire tie.. will play with it until you get so annoyed by all the noise that you take it away 10:12 <@lastchild> Cats and grandchildren are quite similar then 10:28 <@Evilpig> Mirage: eve caught herself a stinkbug this morning. she played with it til the dog came up and ate it 10:28 <@Evilpig> Dolemite: what if the change is for next month? do you have to wait til three days before the cab? 10:57 <@Dolemite> Yes, that was specifically my case. Change for first week of May. Technically I don't even have to go to CAB because it's a DEV environment, but because it's DEV for something on the Critical Systems List, I thought I'd be nice and overly communicative. 10:57 <@Dolemite> Fuck. That. Noise. 11:55 <@Mirage> Trying to wrap my head around this one. Apparently eating something directly from the can is gross, but dumping the contents from that same can into a bowl and then eating it is perfectly fine. 11:57 <@lastchild> sounds spousal 11:57 <@Mirage> yeah 12:22 -!- crashcartpro [uid29931@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-znpqeaiyyuonxcoj] has joined #se2600 12:43 <@Dolemite> Ok, if you've watched the CW Young Adult dramas over the past decade and thought to yourself, "What this needs is some wire fighting!" then the new Kung-Fu is right up your alley. 12:44 <@lastchild> I thought that just this morning 12:45 <@Dolemite> It's not bad, but definitely has that element of CW Drama 13:03 <@lastchild> Dolemite: Superman & Lois is CW and it isn't horrible 13:04 <@Dolemite> Yeah, I'm resisting that one. Smallville turned me off from TV Drama of Superman. 13:05 <@Mirage> India team: "We need winscp on the jump server to get files off sddc mgr" 13:06 <@Mirage> me: it's a linux host, you don't need winscp or anything else to get files off of it 13:06 <@Mirage> I really need to get rid of this glass-top desk and get a good heavy wooden one that I can beat my head against 13:07 <@Dolemite> Install FileZilla and change the icon. Let them be their blissfully ignorant selves. 13:09 <@Mirage> It's on there 13:10 <@Mirage> The India guys are just that bad 80% of the time (being gracious) 13:11 <@Dolemite> w00t. Just got a salary bump retroactive to January 1. Apparently when they did an industry comparison of salaries they realized that we weren't actually overpaid. 13:12 <@Mirage> Nice. 13:14 <@Dolemite> I think we can all confidently say that Mirage is underpaid, though, due to all of his India Team stories. 13:15 <@Evilpig> amazon just delivered something to my downstairs neighbor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkNfz7BdMD4 13:15 < PigBot> lol amazon - YouTube (at www.youtube.com) https://tinyurl.com/ye8lwd6e 13:16 <@Dolemite> ROFL 13:16 <@Dolemite> "Close enough" 13:16 <@Evilpig> no idea what's in it, but I laughed he couldn't be bothered with the 4 steps 13:19 <@Dolemite> Man, I guess I just don't understand the current version of "New and Improved". Old NetReg app had an API call for a search that would return all info about a device. "New and Improved" version that I'm testing requires that I call an API to search, then get the DeviceID from the results, then make a new API call to get the contact info for that device. 14:32 < xtort-[df-org]> do you have a moat? 14:32 < xtort-[df-org]> i want a moat :( 14:45 <@Evilpig> I loathe systemd so bad but we just made a use of the instance names function it can do and i'm at least a little pleased with myself 15:20 <@brimstone> no, that's how it wins 15:24 <@Mirage> Yeah, so normal trailer makes me not really wanna see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpINiz45wRM 15:24 < PigBot> THE SUICIDE SQUAD Trailer 2 (NEW, 2021) - YouTube (at www.youtube.com) https://tinyurl.com/yzr8da2u 15:25 <@Mirage> Redband trailer (NSFW) make me either wanna see it or wonder if these are all the good parts of the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bNrct-1uA4 15:25 < PigBot> THE SUICIDE SQUAD Official Trailer (2021) Margot Robbie, John Cena Action Movie HD - YouTube (at www.youtube.com) https://tinyurl.com/yg6tum94 15:40 <@Evilpig> Mirage: it's got king shark, i'm in 15:41 <@Evilpig> I wish they would have gotten ron funches to voice it though. I REALLY like him as king shark in the harley quinn cartoon 15:41 <@Evilpig> ah hell, I just like ron funches in general. he makes me smile 16:12 <@lastchild> Evilpig: you should marry him 16:14 < xtort-[df-org]> DO YOU HAVE A MOAT SIR? 16:21 < xtort-[df-org]> Fuck it, I'm going with a moat 16:21 < xtort-[df-org]> Just need to convert that walkway into a drawbridge 16:26 <@Evilpig> heh 16:26 <@Evilpig> there was a moat down there for about two weeks. the maintenance folks "fixed" it by pouring gravel all over it 16:30 < xtort-[df-org]> That's why they call it pee gravel 16:30 < xtort-[df-org]> Or so I assume 17:58 <@Mirage> Found my old Palm Pre and decided to charge it and see what all was on it. 17:59 <@Mirage> Since I still use the same SSID and passwd as I used back then it connected to wifi and sync'd time from Apr 2013 to Apr 2021 and then started freaking out for the next hr or so with all the missed meeting alerts from my old VU calendar 18:03 <@Evilpig> hahaha 18:04 <@Evilpig> Mirage: you know better htan to use the same password for over a decade! I think i've used this same key for my network for longer though 18:05 <@Evilpig> I mean hell, mine started as a wep key that I just swapped over to wpa 18:08 <@Mirage> the old se2600_wlan1 is my "legacy" 2.4 b/g SSID. I also have se2600_wlan5g which is for 2.4/5 n/ac, se2600_guest g/n/ac w/ isolation and it's own vlan, and se2600_spectrum which bypasses the firewall and goes straight to the business router 18:13 <@Mirage> The business router runs over it's own vlan internally. I was having some slowdown problems on occasion after setting it up like that because I only had one 1G fibre uplink between that Ubiquiti 16-port PoE switch and my main Cisco, so I split out at vlan to go over copper which also runs from that front closet to my computer room. Been smooth sailing since. Too bad neither switch supports 10GbE on their SFP ports. 18:15 <@Mirage> Evilpig: oh, and my old "legacy" wifi passphrase is 27 characters long. 18:54 <@Evilpig> I think mine is too 18:54 <@Evilpig> let's see 18:54 <@Evilpig> aabbccddeeaabbccddeeaabbcc 19:53 <@Mirage> Suprisingly video encoding w/ ffmpeg is working about the same speed over NFS as on a local disk. 19:54 <@Mirage> Since I decided to keep my main server virtual (for now anyway), I got my reencode.sh script setup on the plex box instead. 19:55 <@Mirage> Typically when I get stuff it goes into "incoming" which plex ignores. Once reencoded it gets dropped into "new" where plex picks it up. 20:35 -!- KiriBloodrose [~Bloodrose@thebloodrose.powered.by.lunarbnc.net] has quit [Quit: Free ZNC ~ Powered by LunarBNC: https://LunarBNC.net] 20:36 -!- Bloodrose [~Bloodrose@thebloodrose.powered.by.lunarbnc.net] has joined #se2600 20:38 -!- Bloodrose [~Bloodrose@thebloodrose.powered.by.lunarbnc.net] has quit [Client Quit] 20:39 -!- Bloodrose [~Bloodrose@thebloodrose.powered.by.lunarbnc.net] has joined #se2600 21:32 -!- crashcartpro [uid29931@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-znpqeaiyyuonxcoj] has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity] --- Log closed Fri Apr 23 00:00:30 2021
