00:00 <@Mirage> On a separate note, the Soft Start module on my Hitachi C10RJ Tablesaw took a shit.  Replaced it and the new one died after 4-5 power cycles.  Hopped on some forums, looked up some wiring diagrams, and looked up to see what a soft start module is actually for....then just cut it out of the circuit and bypassed it.  Problem solved.

09:24 <@Mirage> Evilpig: the soft start is supposed to lessen the amperage draw when you first kick on the motor.  The primary reason for it is to avoid tripping breakers when you first turn it on.  Hasn't really got anything to do with safety.
