So fucking annoying. 08:29 <@Evilpig> you could change the power settings to stay on while you get shit set up 08:30 <@Mirage> Can't...security profile gets updated first 08:33 < dasunt> Cute. 08:39 <@Corydon76> Mirage: you might be able to turn on developer options and then set the screen to "never sleep" while the device is connected to USB 08:39 <@Corydon76> Developer options usually override security preferences 08:45 <@Mirage> Greyed out and states "disabled by admin".. 08:45 <@Dolemite> Will it let you turn on the option to keep unlocked while it recognizes your face looking at the screen? 08:52 <@Mirage> All those options are greyed out 08:53 <@Dolemite> Then yes, you get to enjoy suckage this morn. 08:53 <@Dolemite> Well, not really enjoy. All other times it's 'fired'. 12:57 <@Dolemite> Mirage: Watching "Depeche Mode - One Night In Paris" on the tv as background while I work. YOU STILL SUCK. 12:59 <@Dolemite> For those who are lost by that statement, when I was his manager at VU, I sent him in my place to a Liebert Users Groups conference. He was smoking a cigarette on the balcony of his hotel the night before the meeting, heard some cool music from the club across the street/next door. Went down to investigate and it was actually Depeche Mode playing a live show. He was able to get tickets and go in. 12:59 <@Dolemite> Depeche Mode is one of my bucket list concerts 13:01 <@Mirage> Now, now..get it straight. The live music outdoors was Pearl Jam and when they were done they announced that tickets were still on sale for the Depeche Mode show that night. 13:02 <@Mirage> I got you a progarm! 13:02 <@Dolemite> OH FUCK YOU. I had blocked that part out! 13:02 <@Mirage> s/progarm/program/ 13:02 <@Dolemite> Pearl Jam + Depeche Mode. Ugh!@#T%!@#T@T@#% 13:03 <@Dolemite> Yes, I still have that program somewhere in a box that I'll likely never get to unpack until the kids move out of the house. 13:03 <@Dolemite> But I'd like to see them in concert before either I or they need a walker. 13:05 <@Dolemite> Maybe they'll play in Knoxville now that the basketball arena allows alcohol sales. They changed that this past Fall, so a few big name cunt-tree acts already announced shows. I'm hoping something else will start booking, too. 13:06 <@Dolemite> Actually, I think Foo Fighters was supposed to play last month but was cancelled due to the 'rona 13:09 <@Dolemite> Mirage: How's the wife holding up? I take it she's busy as can be at work? She have any virus patients to deal with? 13:13 <@Mirage> Not very busy all at. Her floor is a COVID exclusion floor...as in ppl who most likely have it but don't need to be in ICU are there. Because of that they only go into the patient rooms 2-3 times per shift unless the patient calls them for something. Most of their interaction with the patients is via phone. 13:16 <@Mirage> Because they aren't doing elective procedures there are a lot of nurses that don't have anything to do, so they are pretty much being assigned 1:1 with the patients instead of 1:5-6 13:17 <@Mirage> Makes for a lot of just sitting around. Driving her crazy because it's boring. She's been taking books in to work with her to pass the time. 13:39 <@Dolemite> Well that's good and bad for her. At least she's at a lower risk, but then again, she's not helping where she possibly could be. 13:41 <@Mirage> I didn't say none of the patients wind up being positive for it...just that they are kept there while determining such and they don't need to be in ICU 13:43 <@Dolemite> Ah, gotcha 13:43 <@Dolemite> I read that wrong 13:43 <@Dolemite> I read it as "don't have it" rather than "likely have it" 13:43 <@Mirage> Which is why she and the other nurses have to keep daily logs of their temp morning/noon/night. 13:44 <@Dolemite> Well you can tell her I axed about her 13:44 <@Dolemite> One of Pamela's nurse friends is a travel nurse. She's working 2 hospitals up in Montana, right now, and has 9 COVID patients between them the last we heard. 13:45 <@Mirage> Of course if the projected number of asymptomatic carriers is correct then that doesn't really mean anything. Hell she and I both could have already had it and gotten over it for all we know w/o getting tested for the antibody 13:46 <@Dolemite> Yep, it's quite possible that half of us already have had it. 14:07 <@Evilpig> Dolemite gave it to me 14:13 <@dc0de> I blame Dolemite 14:14 <@e--> is Dolemite like the tiger king to you 14:14 <@Dolemite> I'd have to be Carol Fuckin' Baskins for that analogy to work. 14:15 <@e--> idk i mean, when you watch porn do you like the ones with small dicks or big dicks 14:19 <@Mirage> Is there a midgit involved? 14:20 <@Dolemite> e--: I think that line only works when accompanied with a baby tiger and a bag of meth 14:20 <@Dolemite> Mirage: IIRC, there is a midget in the series at some point 14:21 <@Dolemite> I've seen so much TV/Movies during this house arrest it's hard to keep track 14:26 <@Mirage> Lol..talked to my mom Sat. When she called she asked what I was up to. I told her, the new american pasttime.. drinking and watching reruns. 14:29 <@Mirage> Was talking to my neighbor last Thurs. He said that thanks to the Gov deciding to screen all arrivals and impose quarantine on ppl from certain areas that almost all the stste troopers in the outlying counties around DFW have been been assigned to airport duty. Grayson Co, which is the one north of me, for instance supposedly only has 3 troopers patrolling the highways...all but the most senior were re-assigned. 14:30 <@Mirage> Supposedly they are being more lax on pulling over speeders and letting ppl who aren't grossly over the BAC limit off with warnings and firm suggestions that they should go home and stay there. 14:33 <@Mirage> I'm sure it's like that along the LA border also since they announced over the weekend that ALL non-commercial traffic coming into TX from LA would be pulled over by a trooper. 14:57 <@Dolemite> Ok, time to go home. Er, time to flip the switch to home mode. 14:58 <@e--> drive safe 14:58 <@Mirage> Yeah, don't trip on your way to the beer fridge and couch 15:16 <@Evilpig> i'm about to do the same, just not feeling the motivation to start either of these projects I need to do 15:20 <@dc0de> It's getting quittin time... sadly I have to babysit an upload. 15:22 -!- rpifan_ [~rpifan@p200300D2672B68663BE026947B964D59.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #se2600 15:25 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2672B684788BEAB2B25F5CC47.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 15:51 < dasunt> BoJo in intensive care: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-52192604 15:51 < PigBot> Coronavirus: Boris Johnson moved to intensive care as symptoms 'worsen' - BBC News (at www.bbc.com) http://tinyurl.com/skqbel6 17:18 -!- rpifan_ is now known as rpifan 18:15 <@opticron> I've been seeing that he's getting oxygen, but not that he's gone on a vent 18:50 < rpifan> oh well 18:51 < rpifan> who is his replacement 19:13 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2672B68663BE026947B964D59.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Quit: Leaving] --- Log closed Tue Apr 07 00:00:50 2020
