Kind of need a desk at home. 07:07 < xray> Evilpig: Tell them the truth. You are sick of them and need a break. 07:08 <@Evilpig> thinking about doing that on friday 07:09 < xray> I've been telecommuting full time for over two years now. Took a bit of work to get a setup I like but now it's great. 07:09 <@Evilpig> I have a fuckton of pto to use before July 1 too 07:09 < xray> We have to take comp time in the same month it was accrued. It doesn't carry over month to month. 07:10 < xray> I'm maxed out on my vacation accrual so I have to take my vacation every year or I lose it. 07:10 <@Evilpig> this isn't comp time 07:10 <@Evilpig> it's my combination sick/vacation pool 07:10 < xray> Vacation? 07:13 < xray> The best thing I did for telecommuting (other than commercial internet feed) is a 55 inch 4K monitor. It is the screen space of 4 x 27 inch 1080P displays. I was using the 15 inch laptop with an external 27 inch 1080P. This new setup is way way better. Even better than the multi monitor setup I had in my office. 07:22 < dasunt> Ooooh, spam email includes $10 to start investing in Stash. What I think is weird is that they play voice audio through them as well after sounding the sirens. 13:30 <@Mirage> Normally the weather radios go off on Wed's. We have 2 and each are on different channels, so we normally get a test alert from one in the morning and the other that eve. 13:30 < K`Tetch_> actually ,the voice alert is a good idea. helps to specify what the threat is 13:31 < K`Tetch_> maybe in 2 weeks time I'll go record he test 13:31 < K`Tetch_> it was really something i had to get used to when i moved to the us 13:37 <@northrup> K`Tetch_ huh, here in Nashville they're just a siren on the first saturday of every month at noon. 13:37 <@northrup> this prompted me to create a calendar entry so I wasn't like "what the hell!?" 13:59 <@Corydon76> northrup: same schedule for Springfield, only they add 'weather permitting'. 13:59 <@Corydon76> If it looks like bad weather, they'll skip the test to avoid confusing people with whether an alert is a test or not. 14:24 <@Mirage> Here around DFW it's weekly unless there's bad weather that day, then they do it the next day. If the next is also bad they skip til the next week. 14:41 <@Corydon76> https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections 14:41 < PigBot> COVID-19 (at covid19.healthdata.org) http://tinyurl.com/qodrp83 15:31 -!- rpifan_ [~rpifan@p200300D267146431F7B04089151F404B.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #se2600 15:33 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D267146441B4BB70F63A718F2E.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] 15:34 <@Mirage> Wife was chastising me that looking at the news too much is unhealthy (referring to the COVID stuff). 15:35 <@Mirage> I pointed out to her that 90% of anything being reported right now is about the COVID stuff and that everyone is hooked because it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. 15:37 <@Mirage> https://screenrant.com/doctor-who-spinoff-torchwood-season-5-bradley-walsh/ 15:37 < PigBot> Doctor Who Spinoff Torchwood Returning For Season 5, Bradley Walsh Starring (at screenrant.com) http://tinyurl.com/w24esxe 15:37 <@Corydon76> https://www.kxan.com/entertainment-news/samuel-l-jacksons-advice-for-the-covid-19-pandemic-stay-the-f-at-home/ 15:37 < PigBot> Samuel L.
