It is not the same thing as global warming. It is the idea that the chief cause of global warming is people. 08:19 <@Dagmar> I don't fuckin' see anyone else doin' it 08:19 < aestetix> so this means greta thunberg should delete her facebook account 08:19 < aestetix> maybe everyone else will follow suit 08:19 <@Dagmar> No, it means we should start killing spammers. 08:19 <@Dagmar> They triple the cost of email. 08:20 < aestetix> what about mining bitcoin 08:22 <@Dagmar> What about deliberately stupid questions? 08:22 <@Dagmar> Don't complain your shoes don't fit right anymore after blowing off your own foot 08:22 <@Dagmar> *mischan* 09:19 <@Corydon76> Sounds like there may be an environmental benefit to "the right to be forgotten". 09:38 < xray> Corydon76: I hadn't thought of that. 10:18 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 10:26 <@Dolemite> mr0ning, be0tches and h0ez! 10:26 * aestetix hugs Dolemite 10:27 <@Dolemite> Man, I'm all for automation tools, but when your 'automated' version of upgrading a system is 40 steps long when all you need to do is keep track of your customization in gitlab and then dump that into the install folder... you've jumped the fucking shark. 10:29 <@Dolemite> And his way of documenting things is to explain the theory behind something, then naturally the administrative tasks would become intuitive. 10:36 <@oddball> gee... that sounds like someone that we just got rid of. 10:38 <@Dolemite> Fortunately we've moved him - and his successor, who simply kept everything complicated - out. Unfortunately the task of decomplicating this shit was given to me. But I have poked that dragon in the eye. It's not dead, yet, but it's wounded. 10:38 <@oddball> actual converation I had with this guy: 10:39 <@oddball> "ok, what are you checking on a regular basis in the 365 security portal?" 10:39 <@oddball> "So, first you need to read these books, and learn this, and..." 10:39 <@oddball> "fucker, just tell me what you clicked on!" 10:39 <@Dolemite> No shit 10:49 < aestetix> oddball: is he a rockstart? 10:49 < aestetix> er rockstar 10:50 <@Corydon76> Heh, we had this nice long way of applying an update from a vendor when I came on. Today, if we were still receiving the data via CD, it would be "run this script". It's even better today, because the data all comes in via FTP, so there are no steps anymore. It just happens. 10:53 <@Corydon76> And before you get on me about FTP, my choice was SFTP. Vendor wouldn't support it. So it's locked down with IP restrictions who can even see the FTP. 10:54 <@Corydon76> Made for some fun times because their test IP wasn't the same as production IP. 11:03 <@oddball> aestetix: according to him, he is. 11:03 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 11:03 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o dc0de] by ChanServ 11:41 < aestetix> oddball: ah, one of those 11:41 < aestetix> have fun with that 11:42 <@oddball> meh, his last day was a week ago, and we're better for it. 11:51 <@dc0de> happy tuesday? 11:53 < aestetix> so uh 11:53 < aestetix> do any of you know when the next rick and morty comes out? 11:55 <@dc0de> aestetix: not. soon. enough. 12:19 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #se2600 12:24 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:25 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #se2600 12:41 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 12:54 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #se2600 13:11 <@Mirage> yay, MacGyger starts back up again next Fri 14:09 <@oddball> I've been told that that show is surprisingly good. 14:10 <@Dolemite> It's all about your expectations going into it. I actually enjoy the new Magnum PI. Not that's "as good as" or "better" than the original, but different. 14:10 <@Dolemite> If you expected a younger look-alike of Richard Dean Anderson, though... well... 14:25 <@oddball> Well, I'd be confused if it was a Richard Dean Anderson look-a-like... 14:25 <@oddball> That would be MacGuyver. 14:26 <@Dolemite> Well that's what I meant in terms of expectations for MacGuyver 14:26 <@Dolemite> There can only be one Tom Selleck moustache in this world. 14:26 <@oddball> There is that 14:29 <@Dolemite> Magnum PI (original) was a solo show that occasionally pulled in the ensemble cast. The new version has migrated to being an ensemble/team effort pretty much every episode. Then there's the sexual tension between Magnum and Higgins (new show only). 14:35 <@Mirage> I haven't watched the new one..I'm assuming Higgins in the new one is not a saucy balding old englishman? 14:35 <@Dolemite> No, Higgins is played by Perdita Weeks. 14:44 <@Dolemite> Outta here! 14:56 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds] 16:24 -!- K`Tetch_ [~no@unaffiliated/ktetch] has joined #se2600 16:28 -!- K`Tetch [~no@unaffiliated/ktetch] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 18:16 -!- rpifan [~rpifan@p200300D2673C2720BAE2D21B2DEE92B2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 19:59 -!- Mirage [mirage@ra.thehippo.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds] 20:00 -!- Mirage [mirage@raw.thehippo.net] has joined #se2600 20:00 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o Mirage] by ChanServ 23:22 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 23:22 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o dc0de] by ChanServ --- Log closed Wed Jan 29 00:00:48 2020
