How was your weekend? 07:01 < aestetix> Dolemite: well, I can relate. I found out my cat has cancer. Doctor removed the lump, so we're hoping all goes well at the next checkup 07:02 <@Dolemite> :( 07:02 <@Dolemite> My black cat, Sauron, had stomach cancer. We had to put him down a couple of months, ago. 07:02 < aestetix> damn 07:02 <@Dolemite> He couldn't keep any food in him 07:02 < aestetix> How old was he? 07:03 < aestetix> and btw I hope that guy is in jail now. 07:05 <@Dolemite> Sauron was about 16-17 years old (real years) 07:10 < aestetix> yeah my cat is .... I think 9-10 07:10 < aestetix> in real years 07:10 < aestetix> how do you calculate cat years? 07:11 <@Dolemite> Not sure 07:11 <@Dolemite> https://www.purina.co.uk/cats/key-life-stages/ageing/cats-age-in-human-years 07:11 < PigBot> Cat Years | How Old is my Cat in Human Years? | Purina (at www.purina.co.uk) http://tinyurl.com/m7o6wy3 07:12 <@Dolemite> so Sauron was 80-84 in human years 07:12 < aestetix> ok so my cat is in her 50s 07:46 < aestetix> https://youtubedecade.netlify.com 07:46 < PigBot> YouTube Decade (at youtubedecade.netlify.com) http://tinyurl.com/y4glzbm9 08:23 <@Corydon76> Dolemite: on the federated identity, can you call in Frank Abagnale, Jr to consult? 08:28 <@Dolemite> I have no idea who that is 08:28 <@Dolemite> Supposedly this is a "temporary" assignment for me 08:28 <@Dolemite> But nothing ever ends up being temporary around here 08:29 <@Dolemite> And management seems to think I can automate a bunch of it. I have doubts based on what I've seen, and the fact that the guy who is leaving was whip smart and could have automated things, already. 08:31 <@Corydon76> Just adopt an existing standard, stand up an authentication server, and tell the various departments that they need to adapt to it. 08:31 <@Corydon76> Adoption is what takes all the time. 08:32 <@Corydon76> OAuth 2.0, or something like that 08:33 <@Corydon76> If the other stakeholders don't like, what are they going to do, remove you from leadership? You didn't want the task in the first place. 08:42 <@Dolemite> Heh, this is far from a leadership position. This is a grunt position, 100%. 09:45 -!- NotWarcop [~josh@mobile-166-170-53-248.mycingular.net] has joined #se2600 09:46 -!- Warcop [~josh@mobile-166-170-53-237.mycingular.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds] 10:22 -!- crashcartpro [uid29931@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-auohunztkgedeapn] has joined #se2600 10:27 -!- NotWarcop [~josh@mobile-166-170-53-248.mycingular.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 10:30 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.99.2] has joined #se2600 10:32 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.99.2] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 10:35 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.99.2] has joined #se2600 10:35 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.99.2] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 10:41 -!- Warcop [~josh@mobile-166-177-185-115.mycingular.net] has joined #se2600 10:46 <@Mirage> Dolemite: "Frank Abagnale, Jr" is the guy that "Catch Me If You Can" was based on. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264464/ 10:46 < PigBot> Catch Me If You Can (2002) - IMDb (at www.imdb.com) http://tinyurl.com/y4ek77vm 10:50 -!- Warcop [~josh@mobile-166-177-185-115.mycingular.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds] 10:51 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.98.143] has joined #se2600 10:54 -!- NotWarcop [~josh@mobile-166-170-56-220.mycingular.net] has joined #se2600 10:55 -!- Warcop [~josh@166.137.98.143] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 10:57 -!- NotWarcop [~josh@mobile-166-170-56-220.mycingular.net] has quit [Client Quit] 11:28 <@Mirage> Started watching this talk a month or so ago and just finished it. I just found that some of our label printers identify the vendor as "Zebra" and some as "UPS". The only difference externally is the sticker on the bottom. 11:51 < dc0de> Corydon76: that sux. 11:56 <@Corydon76> I'm in the process of establishing a system where a label printer can be plugged into any of our printer servers (via USB) and it will just work. However, to do that right, we have to get the printer vendor and model correct, so serial numbers don't conflict. 11:57 <@Corydon76> So if the warehouse needs a label printer elsewhere, they can just unplug it, move it, plug it into another Pi, and printing resumes normally 11:58 <@Corydon76> Not quite dummy proofing, but close. 11:59 <@Corydon76> They can also technically move the Pi, because they're wireless. 12:06 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 12:07 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 12:07 < dc0de> #boing... 12:34 <@oddball> boing 12:49 -!- opticron [~opticron@75.76.209.103] has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds] 12:50 -!- opticron [~opticron@75.76.209.103] has joined #se2600 12:50 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o opticron] by ChanServ 13:34 -!- dc0de1 [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 13:35 < dc0de1> if I only had a stable vpn... 13:36 -!- dc0de2 [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 13:37 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Disconnected by services] 13:38 -!- dc0de2 is now known as dc0de 13:39 -!- dc0de1 [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 14:37 -!- K`Tetch_ [~no@unaffiliated/ktetch] has joined #se2600 14:38 -!- K`Tetch [~no@unaffiliated/ktetch] has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds] 15:37 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds] 15:57 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 16:24 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has quit [Quit: Leaving.] 16:25 -!- dc0de [~jim@198.46.153.211] has joined #se2600 --- Log closed Tue Aug 27 00:00:52 2019
