Added a new disk, then used parted and set it gpt, then did pvcreate, extended the VG and LV..resize4fs failed because original format was 32b and the filesystem was already at 16T max so the resize failed.  He tried to back out and then rebooted.  EFI bios saw the GPT and decided to try booting off of it, which of course failed because there wasn't an OS on that disk.
