Have you considered using a grub boot loader on a thumb drive to select which drive to boot from. That way the Windows boot loader doesn't get modified. 08:38 <@Shadow404> hmm, if it wasnt a laptoo, that would work nicely, but usb ports are precious on laptops 08:39 <@Shadow404> even a tiny thumb drive, still takes up 1 of 3 ports 08:40 <@Shadow404> unless i could remove it safely after boot up 08:40 < xray> What do you need to do in Linux? Another option would be to use the Windows 10 Linux subsystem. 08:40 < xray> http://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/ 08:40 < xray> It will be coming out in August. 08:40 <@Shadow404> nice 08:40 <@Shadow404> general wifi asshatery 08:41 < xray> I read somewhere that the Linux subsystem will let you do apt-get to install packages. 08:42 <@Shadow404> nice 08:42 -!- sync350 [~sync@c-73-237-89-90.hsd1.ga.comcast.net] has joined #se2600 08:42 -!- mode/#se2600 [+o sync350] by ChanServ 08:42 < xray> Currently I use Kali in Virtualbox and pass the usb wifi device to the VM and hack away. 08:43 < xray> Due to latency it can drop packets from time to time. When that's an issue I simply boot from a USB hard drive and run on real hardware. 08:44 < xray> I have even run NarkNet in a VM. 08:44 < xray> I gave up on Windows dual boot a long time ago because Windows doesn't work and play well with others. 08:46 <@Shadow404> wait, why am i bothering with mbr on physival drives 08:46 <@Shadow404> ill just boot from thumbdrive for linux 08:46 <@Shadow404> durka 08:46 <@Shadow404> thx 08:47 <@Shadow404> not like i need all the usb ports when i do linux stuff 08:53 <@Evilpig> or you could just run windows 10 and they've shown you can run unity via the new bash support 08:53 <@Evilpig> it takes some wrangling but you could do it 08:54 <@Shadow404> hmm, even easier once setup 08:59 <@Shadow404> looks like a pain in the ass, does it have wifi driver support for asshattery? 09:02 <@Evilpig> no idea. I assume it's attaching to the windows subsystem for connectivity 09:02 <@Shadow404> hrmmm 09:16 -!- sync350 [~sync@c-73-237-89-90.hsd1.ga.comcast.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds] 09:47 <@Dagmar> ...or as a place to lay its eggs. 09:47 <@Dagmar> Ovipositor dripping with gore. 09:48 <@Evilpig> wtf are you watching? 09:48 <@Dagmar> This channel 09:48 <@Dagmar> That Ubuntu under Windows is an abomination 09:49 <@Dagmar> Time to back some shit up and make 400% sure I have the right firmwares for the phone 11:04 <@Dagmar> Phone is now formally in "Download All Teh Things" mode 11:18 <@Evilpig> one of the guys came in here yesterday and pointed out the backglass on my nexus 6p has cracked and that it is an ongoing issue with this phone 11:18 <@Evilpig> I've never damaged a phone before and was very disturbed by it 11:20 <@opticron> yep, it's delicate 11:22 <@Evilpig> https://torrentfreak.com/nintendo-cracks-pokemon-go-piracy-160714/ 11:23 <@Dagmar> They would have never even had the Auschwicz problem if people hadn't been sideloading 11:23 <@Dagmar> It wasn't technically released yet in Germany 11:37 <@Dagmar> Doh!
