I like this. 20:02 -!- sync350 [~sync@c-24-30-78-161.hsd1.ga.comcast.net] has quit [Quit: This computer has gone to sleep] 20:23 <@Evilpig> NotLarry: I am scrapping convirt2. It is too buggy to be even considered. They have a nice polished interface but it is still just a polished turd 21:25 <@brimstone> Evilpig: tried oVirt? 21:31 <@Evilpig> not yet 21:31 <@Evilpig> I think I looked at that oen though. is that one of the baremetal installers? 21:33 <@Evilpig> right now i'm messing with virt-manager and an xforwarder. running into problems with converting my vmware guests to kvm images. win2008 doesn't support scsi disks from vmware... other people are saying install the virtio drivers then try that. getting really annoyed 21:33 <@brimstone> no, just a web interface for libvirt 21:34 <@Evilpig> I look at that once I get this image working 21:34 <@brimstone> it's very centos/rhel centric though :/ 21:34 <@brimstone> i've not found a good "cloud" based one yet 21:35 <@Evilpig> I could care less about cloud. I'm looking for a single server with a nice simple straight forward web interface 21:35 <@Bahhumbug> Why do you need a web interface? 21:35 <@Evilpig> dont' need it. prefer it. 21:35 <@Bahhumbug> *shudder* 21:36 <@Evilpig> if I am remote and want to add a disk or something just simple to click and go. tunnel to the private interface and all nice and friendly. plus if I needed to I could walk someone else through it 21:36 <@Evilpig> I know this vm is starting. but whenI hit it with vnc the connection is dropping, which is really making me want to smash it with a hammer 21:41 <@Bahhumbug> brimstone: ovirt is RH's open-sourced replacement for the windows-based proprietary management console that they were limited to after they bought Quramnet and the rights to KVM. A replacement, I might add, that's over 2 years late in making it to market. But still, late is better than being forced to use a windows console to manage virt resources on a RH box :) 21:42 <@brimstone> the more you know 21:42 <@Bahhumbug> ovirt is actually pretty well designed and slick. 21:43 <@Bahhumbug> Damn it, Qumranet. I constantly make that typo :/ 22:00 <@Evilpig> okay finally got the virtio drivers for 2008 and it is attempting to fix itself. 22:32 -!- stowbari [~Stowbari@adsl-99-97-86-190.dsl.akrnoh.sbcglobal.net] has quit [Quit: Leaving.] 22:49 -!- al3x [~al3x@unaffiliated/al3x] has joined #se2600 23:01 -!- RangerZ [~mwalker@c-98-211-44-193.hsd1.tn.comcast.net] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 23:04 -!- al3x [~al3x@unaffiliated/al3x] has left #se2600 ["the frequency does not decay"] 23:20 -!- unixfg_ [~ryan@ghruaim.net] has quit [Quit: Lost terminal] 23:34 <@Evilpig> it's beena while since i used brctl last. when I add an interface to a new bridge. that interface loses its config right? 23:39 <@Evilpig> well if this doesn't work i can take my lunch and run home. heh 23:51 <@Dagmar> I'll be perfectly honest about brctl 23:52 <@Dagmar> I don't know what effect it has on interfaces, and I don't really care. 23:52 <@Dagmar> If I see they became unconfigured, I just set them again and move on --- Log closed Thu Feb 16 00:00:00 2012
